Power of Testimony

October 27th, 2011 by James

As a church we are going through a small series on looking at those things we do on a Sunday and why on earth we actually do them! This some of my notes from the one I did recently on the Power of Testimony!

Introduction:
We sometimes forget about what God has done for us
God had to remind his people of what he had done for them especially in the midst of crisis/difficulty.
We need to keep on sharing and remembering testimony.

The Ark of the Covenant/Ark of the Testimony reminded God’s people of what he had done, who he was and what he was going to do for his people.

David kept testimony in his heart – Psalm 103

Why Testimony is Important?
Acknowledge God – It praise and worships God – Luke 17:11-18
Brings about Interest – Matthew 4:23-24
Cuts Arguments – Acts 3
Do it Again Lord – Revelation 19:10
Evangelistic Tool – John 4: 39-42
A, B, C, D, E – important as we seek to become even more mission focused.

What do we need to do?
Share our own story – Our story is so important no matter how dramatic or simple it may be. It is your story – never be embarrassed
Share your daily story – What is God doing in your life today?
Share your “impact” story – How are you being part of changing lives and seeing the kingdom break out?
Let us see Jesus be the talk of this nation!

Allan McKinlay Album

October 24th, 2011 by James

Thought I would write a wee plug for Allan McKinlay’s new album “When God Speaks”. I have known Allan for a couple of years now and he is an incredible guy and worship leader. I was so excited when he was saying he was putting an album together. It came out just before CLAN Gathering this year and the album is honestly up there with the best worship albums I have ever heard. There is something incredible about it. It has 11 tracks on it all of his own stuff that he has wrote and there is a real mix of styles that I think we will be hearing Church on a Sunday sing more and more! Definitely recommend getting a copy of the album or buying it on iTunes – It will not disappoint. It’s been getting great reviews all over the place…

Life to the Full

September 29th, 2011 by James

Well Well Well… I still need to pinch myself when I see this book because that is Life to the Full been out for a few months now. Selling really well – Think that is us sold over a 1000 now which is really good considering it is not in any stores or anything like that! Been selling it through Churches, Conferences and as Steven and I have been out and about.

We are getting some really good feedback about it. Also people who are on verge of coming into the Kingdom have been reading it and God has been speaking to them – Very encouraging! God is doing stuff!

Here is a wee vid from a few months ago of me plugging the book at the Healing Rooms Directors Day a couple of months ago now…

If you haven’t got a copy of the book then get one from me or get one from the web address – Life to the Full - Only a Fiver – What a bargain!

Wedding

September 25th, 2011 by James

17th June 2011 – The Real Royal Wedding of the Year – Not according to us but STV – Check here for that article

It was so so so good – honestly the best day of my life so far and I promise Gilli didn’t make me say that. From start to finish we just had such a blast. Seen the DVD about a million times now and it just gets better and better.

The service was at Scotstoun Church. We had such a blast with big Howard calling out the words of Knowledge. Doesn’t get better than some healings at a wedding.

We then went off to the Glynhill Hotel in Renfrew to party on down. We danced till the early hours… Woot Woot! The meal was great, the speeches were superb and the dancing was out of this world – I will post our first dance tomorrow!

Life is very different as a married man – however it is so much better – As you can tell by my face :)

April 25th, 2011 by James

I had mentioned on my blog a little while ago that I was co-writing a book/manual with Steven. It has now arrived. Still seems so bizarre that I have this book out, it is a completely hilarious thought but here is the proof…

We are really chuffed with it. If you would like to see more about what it contains and look at some sample chapters, go to the Life to the Full website. You can also buy a wee copy on there for a fiver however when you next see me, you can one and saves you the Postage and Package!!

Weekend of Football

March 21st, 2011 by James

What a great weekend!

On Saturday, My Dad took me down to my first Premiership Game as part one of the “Stag Do”. We went down early doors to see Man Utd take on Bolton. Was a great laugh and had a great time down there. We saw the legends that are Gary Neville, Sam Alladyce and Anthon Cotton (For all you Corrie fans!) outside the Stadium. Also discovered that there are hardly any Mancurian’s are there, the place was just filled with all the nations of the world. We went into the “Trafford” Bar and met the Malta Supporters Club, Scandavians, Russians, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese…the list goes on and on. It was a great experience going to Old Trafford. Was a bit of a disappointing game with only one goal in it, a late Berbatov follow up. Discovered that Michael Carrick should not be allowed to play for a top 4 club and that Fabrice Muamba makes Maurice Edu look like Pele.

The Football festivities was not over yet for the weekend as I got free tickets to see the Gers take on Celtic at Hampden courtesy of a very annoyed Alan McWilliam who was speaking in Hawick. I went with the legend Allan McKinlay and we had a blast, such a great atmosphere and such a great game. It seemed to be that the Gers deserved to win it and was a great to see us play a 4-4-2, showing that we should be playing this formation in all competitions. We would still be in the Scottish Cup and Europa if we did.

My prediction is that Rangers are now going to go on and win the title… As will Man Utd for that fact! What a great weekend.

Dirar – Club Brugge

March 17th, 2011 by James

I reckon this will be this player’s last game for the club – Going off in a huff because he couldn’t take the free kick and his own fans booed him for it…
